Best Games to Play on ePSXe

One of the best things to do today is to play video games. Playing video games is more fun today because of the strict quarantine measures imposed. Instead of waiting for the day to end without doing, you can at least play video games and have fun. You can play multiplayer games such as DOTA 2, PUBG, and Fortnite.

With these types of games, you’ll have no problem having fun at all. All you need is a stable internet connection, friends, and you’re all set. Do note that some gaming communities from different games are often toxic to new players. Rather than have a fun time playing, you might end up getting stressed.

Alternatively, you can play games that you enjoyed when you were a kid. Admittedly, many of us have played classics on our Sony Playstation 1, such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Final Fantasy. If you know your resources today, you can still enjoy these games without having to boot up your ancient Playstation 1 console.

All you need is an emulator. Emulators are programs that make it possible for your PCs to run games, apps, and other software that isn’t intended to run on your PC. ePSXe is the best psx emulator you can download on your PC. With this emulator, you can play tons of PS1 titles on your PC. With that said, let’s relive some of the best moments in our past with these fun PS1 games you can play on your PC using an emulator.

Crash Team Racing

Although CTR or Crash Team Racing isn’t the best Crash Bandicoot game, it’s undoubtedly the most fun in the series. CTR takes all your favorite Crash Bandicoot characters from the franchise and puts them into a race. Although it’s not just any ordinary race, you get to play.

The race tracks have regular peach crates, TNT crates, Nitro crates, and other crates you can find in the game. Think of it as an early clone of Mario Kart, only a lot more fun. Remember to pick up this game when you’re using an emulator.

Final Fantasy IX (FFIX)

When it comes to RPGs, the Playstation had tons of them, and not being to relive these games would be a shame. Thankfully, we have emulators that can help us run ISO files and other file types for old PS1 games. One of the best RPGs in the PS1 console is Final Fantasy IX.

Final Fantasy IX is one of the several games to come out from video game giant Square Enix. In Final Fantasy IX, you play as Zidane, whose ultimate goal is to kidnap Princess Garnet of Alexandria. Things don’t go as planned, and Zidane is plunged into an adventure with other interesting characters.

FFIX is a turn-based role-playing game, and if you don’t know it by now, RPG games are some of the heaviest in terms of content. When you want to grind and play for longer periods, then this game is for you.

Front Mission 3

Another impressive role-playing to come out from Square Enix is Front Mission 3. Instead of dragons and mythical creatures, the game focuses on futuristic armed conflict through the use of mechanized walkers called Wanzers. You take control of Kazuki, a wanzer test pilot who unwittingly gets caught in a deep, multi-national scandal while visiting his adoptive sister Alisa.

Front Mission 3 is also a turn-based strategy RPG, which means you’ll get to plot your moves as the battle goes on. Another fun component of the game is being able to assemble your own Wanzer. You can mix and match parts or use a stock model. You can also equip weapons such as shotguns, rifles, machine guns, batons, shields, and even missile launchers on your wanzers.

Although the game might sound simple, it’s truly addicting and a lot of fun to play. Coupled with an immersive story, Front Mission 3 is one of the sleeper hits on the original Playstation 1 console.

Resident Evil 2

Before the PS4 remakes, gamers of old knew how scary the original Resident Evil 2 game was. Capcom surely has outdone themselves with the franchise, and Resident Evil 2 was one of the best. You take control of either Leon or Claire in this third-person survival horror game. You fight zombies and other creatures in a ravaged city known as Racoon City.

The game came in two discs, one for the Leon playthrough and one for the Claire scenario. Thankfully, the ISO files needed to play Resident Evil 2 on your emulator only requires one file. Give this game a try and you will find out why a lot of people consider Resident Evil as the prime franchise for zombie games.

Takeaway

Most of our childhood involved video games. One of the most popular consoles way back was the PlayStation 1. It had a ton of awesome games such as Front Mission 3, Crash Bandicoot Warped, etc. If you want to relive the nostalgia, you can use emulators such as the ePSXe. If you have a PS4 controller, you can also use it to play. Just set it up with ePSXe, and you’re good to go.
